Calrossy Alumni Vale

It is with great sadness that we report the passing of Calrossy Alumni and extend our sympathy and prayers to their memories.

Vale Stephen Millar

Dear Calrossy Community, We write to inform sad news of the passing of Stephen Millar, well known to many in the Calrossy/William Cowper community.

Stephen was recently diagnosed with melanoma and after a very brief illness passed away earlier this week. He had been the Vicar of the Anglican Parish of Nundle for the past few years.

Mr Millar’s involvement at Calrossy has been significant, as a parent, Board member, Chairman of the Board and he acted as Business Manager, during some difficult years. During his tenure Stephen oversaw the appointment of Elisabeth Jackson as Principal, presided over amalgamation and expansion of the separate schools into one and was a driving force in Calrossy’s growth and development. He was known and regarded for his integrity, vision and Christian witness.

We mourn his passing but are grateful to God for his contribution and service to our school. On behalf of Calrossy I will pass on our condolences to Wendy and his children, in the knowledge that he is now in the presence of the Heavenly father he so faithfully served. The Funeral was held at St Paul’s Church on Wednesday, Jan 16 with a committal service held at Nundle on Thursday, Jan 17.
