Calrossy has a dynamic and progressive music department
Unique to Calrossy, our Classroom Instrumental Program offers the opportunity to learn in small groups, an orchestral instrument of their choice, provided by Calrossy. With specialist tutors, in addition to their classroom Music studies, students from Year 7 and 8 undertake solo and ensemble tuition.
Students have the opportunity to participate in the study of Music through the curriculum and extra-curricular activities from our team of specialist Music teachers.
Calrossy offers HSC, Music 1, Music 2 and Extension courses for students to study with many of our students being nominated for performance in the annual Encore concert in the Opera House.
The Music Ensemble program features 14 ensembles, including 4 choirs, 4 concert bands, jazz band, rock band, orchestra, 2 string ensembles, percussion ensemble and various chamber ensembles. Enrichment for all students is encouraged through many special events. These include our Calrossy House Music competition,
Secondary Girls Gala, Secondary Boys and Primary Performing Arts Evenings, a biannual Musical production in both Primary and Secondary, HRIS Cultural Festival, whole school Carols service and Presentation Days.
Calrossy offers private music tuition in all brass, woodwind and string instruments as well as piano, guitar, voice, drums and musicianship studies with expert tutors.
