This scholarship recognises a student’s participation and/or merits and achievement across fields such as education, leadership, community service, sport and/or Christian endeavour. William Cowper was the first Australian-born Anglican clergyman who worked hard and travelled widely, holding services around the New England region including Tamworth.

Academic Scholarship

The Academic Scholarship is based on academic merit as demonstrated through ACER (Australian Council for Educational Research) testing. The ACER Scholarship Test is used by approximately 200 Independent Schools across Australia to identify academically able applicants for the award of a scholarship. The tests are not curriculum based and do not test the ability to retrieve learned knowledge, nor are they diagnostic. They are designed to rank order applicants, finely differentiating the top end of performance. The ACER Scholarship Test requires applicants to demonstrate a range of skills such as the ability to interpret, infer, deduce and think critically.

ACER produces these tests, supplies them to schools, marks applicants’ papers and reports applicant results back to the schools and parents.

Calrossy will host an ACER Test on Saturday, February 22, 2025.

Registration has opened and is $170. Practice papers are available for purchase.
