Junior School
(P–6)

Beyond Prep, Calrossy Junior School consists of Infants (K-2) and Primary (3-6) on the William Cowper Campus. The rural setting provides plenty of space for children to learn, play and explore.

OUR GOAL

Dynamic learning environments
and specialised programs

Underpinning all we do in Junior School is a focus on learning to learn and instilling our students with courage and confidence. Dedicated teachers present engaging learning experiences and opportunities, both in and out of the classroom that are purposeful the children know why they are doing something, relevant and authentic, where the learning experiences are real and relate to everyday life.

OUR CURRICULUM

Class sizes are small with all students accessing specialist Music, Library, PE, Christian Studies and Language lessons. Learning enhancement is available for students requiring support or extension.

JUNIOR PERSPECTIVES

We've been delighted with the prep experience for Eva; she gets to feel like she's in 'big school' for all intents and purposes, but we have the security and reassurance of the extra support that the smaller separate space within Calrossy provides. The extra morning drop off and the later afternoon pickup and available after school care have meant that we are able to manage working out of town, and there have been many positives to Eva's educational experience.

Angell Harris

Junior School Parent (Eva, Kindergarten; Sam, Year 5)

I love Calrossy because of the wonderful opportunities that are available. I like the sport, music and other activities. I also like the good environment, with friendly teachers and peers.

Junior School Student

We are incredibly grateful to have our children at Calrossy Junior School. The dedicated staff create stimulating learning experiences and uphold high expectations, while providing opportunities for students to excel. There is a strong sense of community too, and it's evident that every child is known, valued, and encouraged. Watching our children grow with confidence and eagerly attend school brings us immense joy.

Briony Starr

Junior School Parent, Chevy, Year 1; Nellie, Year 6.

We have been at Calrossy since Prep, and we have a great time every day with out friends. Our teachers are always happy, and we enjoy learning from them. Our Christian Studies teacher is Mrs Collins and she makes learning about the Bible and Jesus fun and inclusive for everyone.

Tom and Ben Wilson

Year 6 students

I like to read picture books. Everyone at Calrossy is kind and we get to play on the equipment and have fun.

Ellie Nash

Year 1 Student

At Calrossy, the loving and encouragement of the teachers takes the students to the next level of learning experience. The new music building will offer even further excitement that the school can bring.

Priscilla Sung

Parent, Year 6 student

We absolutely love the school. The staff, children and whole community are amazing. As a busy rural family we find everything so easy and the communication from the staff and school is next to none. The Prep itself would have to be my favourite aspect. The program is a beautiful way for any child to begin their schooling and we found it a huge confidence booster for our boys and a head start into Kindergarten in regards to routine, learning and making friendships.
