On a perfect spring evening, under the warm glow of string lights the Calrossy community gathered for a memorable outdoor celebration this week thanking the extended Calrossy community for another 12 months of learning, life and support across all areas of the School.

The tranquil setting on the William Cowper Campus created the ideal atmosphere for an event to honour those whose quiet dedication and tireless efforts have shaped the many achievements of 2024. From volunteer coaches, tutors, event partners and the many local businesses and suppliers, to the Moore Creek Rural Fire Service and members of the Tamworth Magpies Rugby Club, the event brought together a diverse tapestry of faces.

Each one has contributed in unique ways to the life of Calrossy students—whether in classrooms, on the sporting fields, or behind the scenes in ways often unseen but deeply appreciated. The venue itself was a tribute to the tireless dedication of volunteers, the P&F and staff; featuring the student led, Caravan of Courage, and the flourishing gardens, planted in 2007 by William Cowper Secondary Boys and Inken Nicholson. It was a fitting backdrop, symbolising growth, collaboration, and the enduring legacy.

The evening, hosted by the Executive team and Heads of Departments, wasn’t just a celebration of achievements; it was a heartfelt expression of gratitude for a community that embodies the spirit of "it takes a village to raise a child."

In his address, Principal David Smith expressed heartfelt thanks, saying,

"Looking around the room tonight, each and every one of you has played an important part in the life of a student here at Calrossy. Whether on the field, in the classroom, or quietly supporting behind the scenes, your contributions have been vital. Here at Calrossy, we believe in learning in partnership so our graduates can create change that matters. Your dedication makes this vision a reality."
