The Class of 2024 at Calrossy has exemplified resilience, determination, and a commitment to excellence throughout their HSC journey. As a cohort, they have achieved outstanding results across a wide range of subjects, with many students and most subjects excelling well above the State average.
While individual achievements shine brightly, it is the collective effort, hard work, and steady progress of the entire class that we celebrate most. From top performers to those who achieved personal bests in their studies, every student has contributed to a legacy of success and demonstrated the values of Resilience, Selflessness, Integrity, and Inclusiveness . These results are a testament to the dedication of the students, the unwavering support of their families, and the commitment of Calrossy’s teachers to ensuring every individual is equipped to thrive.
Calrossy is proud to celebrate the achievements of all its students with, Alistair Scott, who has completed his entire learning journey at Calrossy, emerging among the State’s best and Calrossy’s Dux. Alistair’s exceptional ATAR of 99.5 and his recognition as an All-Round Achiever highlights not only his personal dedication but also the quality of education and support provided at Calrossy from Prep through to Year 12.
This year’s results are a reflection of the entire Year 12 cohort’s hard work, resilience, and determination across a wide range of subjects.
Key Highlights of the 2024 HSC Results:
- 21 Distinguished Achievers with 40 top band results, earned by 21 students across 21 courses.
- Ten students achieved ATARs over 90, led by Calrossy Dux Alistair Scott.
- All-Round Achiever: Alistair Scott, with top band results across 14 units, including Chemistry, Mathematics Extension 2, English Advanced, and Music 2.
- Subject excellence: Calrossy students performed above the state average in most courses, with outstanding results across the board:
- 100% of students in top 3 bands: Physics, Primary Industries, Software Design and Development, Visual Arts, Dance and Earth and Environmental Science.
- 100% of students in top 2 bands: Textiles and Design, Music 1, Dance and English Extension 1.
- 98% of students in top 3 bands in English Advanced and 94% in Biology and Agriculture.
- 93% of students in Mathematics Advanced and 92% in Society and Culture in top 3 bands.
- Creative talent recognised: 13 Students were nominated and/or selected for prestigious showcases, including Shape, Encore, Bravisimmo, Callback, and TEXstyle.
Deputy Principal, Mrs Kelli Cato expressed her pride in the achievements of the entire cohort.
“This year, we had students enrolled in 30 HSC courses, with results above the state average in most subjects. While it’s wonderful to celebrate our top achievers, we are equally proud of all students who have worked consistently and diligently to achieve their personal best.”
Mrs Cato further emphasised the importance of celebrating the whole cohort.
“At Calrossy, we place great value on the achievements of every student, both those with strong results, and those who often don’t make the headlines but have achieved personal success through sheer effort and perseverance. Their success is a testament to their consistent hard work and the dedication of our exceptional staff.
Alistair Scott, who has been part of the Calrossy community since Prep, reflected on his time at the school.
“It’s not just about the study; I’ve had so many fantastic teachers over the years who have gone above and beyond. Every single one of my teachers has been amazing, and I’m really grateful for that.”
Alistair plans to pursue a Bachelor of Law at UNSW, building on his incredible achievements as Calrossy Dux.
