Strong Start for Program - Staff and Students Give Their Verdict

We're nearly one term into our new XP Program, an innovative initiative designed to enrich student engagement, align courses with our School values, and enhance overall student experience. The results are in, and they're overwhelmingly positive!

At Calrossy, we believe in unlocking potential, and the new XP Program is doing just that—empowering students with fresh opportunities to explore their passions, develop new skills, and thrive in an engaging, hands-on environment.

The XP Program offers students in Years 5 to 9 an exciting opportunity to explore, create, and collaborate like never before. This dynamic initiative is designed to foster cross-cohort connections, boost student engagement, and provide unique, school-developed electives that align with student interests and passions.

We are almost one term in and thought it was time to ask staff and students in Years 7 to 9 about the program.

The results are particularly encouraging because they demonstrate high student engagement and strong alignment with School values, signaling a successful start and positive acceptance of the XP Program by those involved.

Staff Feedback Highlights

Staff responses have shown strong enthusiasm for the program:

Student Engagement received the highest rating of 4.4 out of 5, highlighting the program's success in keeping students actively involved.

Alignment with Values followed closely at 4.3 out of 5, reinforcing that the XP courses closely reflect and uphold our school's core principles.

The Overall Program Value was rated at 4.2 out of 5, indicating substantial perceived benefits from the courses.

Student Voice & Vote

Students have expressed a positive experience through their feedback:

Enjoyment of the XP Program: Rated 3.73 out of 5.

Recommendation to Others: Scored higher at 3.82 out of 5, indicating students are likely to encourage peers to participate.

Connection to Personal Interests: Rated at 3.61 out of 5, showing effective alignment between course offerings and student interests.

Skill Development Impact

46 students reported clear skill development benefits.

30 students indicated they might have developed new skills.

Only 18 students reported no skill development.

Uniform Compliance Improves Dramatically Uniform compliance saw a remarkable improvement:

In Week 1, 15.9% of students had uniform breaches (60 students).

By Week 2, breaches dropped to 1.1% (just 4 students), marking a significant positive change.
