Calrossy supports Central North Junior Rugby

Calrossy Anglican School is proud to announce a two-year partnership with Central North Junior Rugby Union. Calrossy is a powerhouse in the North West Regional Youth Rugby since entering the competition more than two decades ago. Calrossy has had players move through our School and Central North Pathways to represent Australia in the Junior Wallabies and Super W.

Our support for the Central North Jnrs is another step forward in our School’s commitment to support junior rugby in the north west. It is a region, which stretches from Moree to Coonabarabran, south to Scone and east to Walcha.  Calrossy is proud to have more than 60 of our current students involved in the representative pathway program.

Central North Jnr Vice President, Erin Moore, welcomed the partnership saying it allows the organisation to provide opportunities for our Under 10 – Under 18 players to test their skills and abilities against the best from across all zones in NSW.

“The support provided by our long standing and new partners such as Calrossy allow us to subsidise registration across the Zone, assist with insurance costs, support the referees academy and to advance the sport across the region,” Mrs Moore says.

Conrad Starr, Calrossy’s Director of Rugby, says our School has representation in every age group in male and female teams. With Calrossy embarking on this Partnership hoping to consolidate and expand the opportunities and pathways for our students outside of School.

Sam Anderson, Head of Calrossy 7-9, says in his short time with Calrossy it is evident that rugby is held in high regard in the School and community

“I have also learnt that our Alumni remain heavily involved in competitions from the Shute Shield to Club Rugby across the length and breadth of the State. Showing our support for the Central North representative program is another way for our School to give back to the Sport.”
